Solana Mobile Declares War on Apple & Google with SKR and Seeker

Quick Take
  1. SKR token rewards users and developers and TEEPIN allows anyone to access a free, open mobile environment.
  2. Solana Mobile brings out the Seeker smartphone and SKR token to help decentralize the mobile industry and compete with companies like Apple and Google.

22 May 2025Solana Mobile (a company of Solana Labs) has announced the launch of its new SKR token and second smartphone Seeker. This phone will be available worldwide from August 4, 2025. It has been priced at $500 for early customers and has already been booked by more than 1.5 lakh people in 57 countries. This phone will be equipped with blockchain technology and will compete with big app stores like Apple and Google.

SKR Token is a special part of this new mobile system. This token will benefit phone users, app developers and mobile manufacturing companies. Through this token, users will get rewards, ownership and the right to vote in the system. This token is only for Solana Mobile, while Solana’s old token SOL is now trading at $173. How to get SKR tokens, when and where to buy it—information on this will be given later.

The Seeker smartphone is a new and improved phone after Solana’s first phone “Saga”. It has many special features:

  • A special Seed Vault to keep your crypto passwords safe
  • A unique token called “Seeker Genesis Token” which will be available only with the phone and will give special features
  • Solana’s new and improved app store

The company has earned around $67.5 million (about Rs 562 crore) from the booking of this phone, which clearly shows the interest of the people.

Along with this, Solana Mobile has also introduced a new system called TEEPIN. This is an open-source technology that allows any mobile company to use Solana Mobile’s software—without any fee. This will give more freedom to app developers and more options to users.

“With Seeker and TEEPIN, people will no longer just use apps, but will also become part of a free and open mobile world,” said Emmet Hollier, general manager of Solana Mobile.

Anatoly Yakovenko, CEO of Solana Labs, said, “With the help of TEEPIN, mobile will now become an open and secure system, which will be completely different from the common phone.”

Although the SKR token was mistakenly referred to as SMOB in some places, the company has clarified it.

The launch of the Seeker phone and the arrival of the SKR token show that Solana Mobile is now on a mission to change the mobile world. More information related to the SKR token will be given soon.
